Sexual violence is sexual activity when consent is not obtained or freely given. It is a serious public health issue that profoundly impacts lifelong health, opportunity, and well-being.
Sexual violence can impact anyone in the community, regardless of sexual orientation or age. Perpetrators of sexual violence can include someone the survivor knows, such as a friend, current or former intimate partner, coworker, neighbor, or family member. It can occur in-person or online through digital platforms, such as posting or sharing sexual pictures of someone without their consent, or non-consensual sexting.

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County is committed to helping end human trafficking by partnering with community-based organizations in Santa Rosa and surrounding counties.
Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion for labor or services, or commercial sexual acts.
Trafficking can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, sex, or nationality.
Victim Services
VIPS funds rape crisis centers in Florida to provide the services 24/7 to primary victims of sexual violence, including crisis intervention, information and referral, advocacy and accompaniment, counseling, therapy, hotline services, and support groups.
