WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children. WIC provides nutritious foods for low to moderate income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, in addition to infants and children, from birth to age five.
WIC Eligibility
WIC's Prescreening Tool can be used to determine if you may be eligible for WIC benefits. To apply for benefits you must make an appointment at your local WIC agency.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 850-983-5250.
To be eligible to participate in WIC:
- Reside in Florida.
- You must be nutritionally at risk. Assessment of nutritional risk is made by a trained health professional, usually at the local WIC office, at no cost to you.
- You must meet income eligibility. Your family’s income must not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level. If you are currently receiving Medicaid, Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), or SNAP benefits, you automatically meet the income eligibility requirement.
For WIC eligibility, a pregnant woman may be counted as more than one person. Fees will not be charged for WIC certification or WIC benefits. If you have more than eight people in your household, please call 850-983-5250 for more details.
