DOH-Santa Rosa Celebrates Fifty Years of Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Milton, Fla.– The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (DOH-Santa Rosa) is holding a reception to celebrate 50 years of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
The event is on June 5, 2024, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Reception will be held in the DOH-Santa Rosa WIC lobby at:
5527 Stewart St.

DOH-Santa Rosa encourages past and present clients, staff, physician offices, local officials, and community organizations to come celebrate 50 years of WIC. Light refreshments will be served.
WIC is a federally funded nutrition program that provides the following at no cost: healthy foods, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding education and support, and referrals for health care and community services. Services are available to pregnant women, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5.
“I know the WIC program works because I was a client with my first child. The information and nutritious foods we received were a huge help to my family” said WIC Operations and Management Consultant Dede Barrett. “I have worked for DOH-Santa Rosa WIC program for 34 years. I love knowing what I do truly helps my clients.”
