Water Safety Outreaches

 May 18, 2024 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County recognizes May as National Water safety Month. Everyone can take precautions to prevent drowning. Drowning is the number one preventable cause of death for children under five. Whether you are a parent or a community group member, everyone plays a role in drowning prevention. Always have a designated water watcher; never leave a child alone around water; use barriers with self-closing gates around pools and other bodies of water. Visit watersmartfl.com for more resources on drowning prevention.

DOH-Santa Rosa will be handing out swim safety information and resources at three locations in Santa Rosa County:

  • Dolphin Island Splash Pad
800 Shoreline Drive, Gulf Breeze 32561
  • Navarre Park
    8513 Navarre Parkway, Navarre 32566
