Market locations and hours vary. Please see the information below for addresses, contact information and store hours.
The purpose of the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program is to improve the health of women and children and to encourage the purchase of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables directly from farmers. Produce can be purchased at authorized farmers markets and roadside stands from April 1 to October 31 each year.
In Florida, the program is administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) in cooperation with the Florida Department of Health, Florida Department of Elder Affairs, and the Florida Cooperative Extension Service.
The WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program:
- Coupons that participants in the WIC program can use to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets and roadside stands;
- Promotes the purchase of local produce by working with local farmers; and
- Provides nutrition education to WIC participants.
Eligibility
Pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding women and children ages one to five who are enrolled in the WIC program can receive coupons to purchase fresh Florida produce at authorized farmers markets from April 1 to October 8.
Shop throughout the Farmers' Market season for the most variety. Different vegetables and fruits are sold each month. Arrive early for the best selection of produce. Some growers sell out quickly.
