Florida Department of Health in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties work in collaboration with a number of nonprofit organizations to create, publish, share, and update the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) each year.
This assessment shares key community health status indicators, important social and economic factors, and community resources identified through the community assessment and mobilizing model used.
This group of organizations, now known as Achieve Healthy EscaRosa, surveyed residents in 2021 to get an understanding of the perceptions and themes of health and wellness in the two counties.
The CHNA looks at the social and economic factors that affect health, like median household income and employment. The report identifies top causes of death and looks at factors that impact one portion of the population more significantly than others.
In addition to the CHNA, Achieve Healthy EscaRosa has partnered with the Haas Center at the University of West Florida, and Achieve Escambia, to create an online data dashboard. The dashboard is a free, easy-to-use tool that allows users to understand how key factors result in quality-of-life for individuals and the community.
The Achieve Dashboard aggregates data elements across a broad range of issues related to the economy and quality-of-life. Indicators of education, health, social well-being, infrastructure, quality-of-place, workforce, and demographics are the focus of this dashboard. Funding partners are hopeful that citizens and organizations will utilize the dashboard to plan programs, align resources, and leverage new resources and opportunities to improve outcomes across indicators.
Guided by cross-sector leaders engaged in the work of the funding organization, the dashboard is intended to supplement other existing data dashboards and will be updated routinely and improved to meet the growing and changing needs of our community.
