What is Basic First Aid?
When you provide basic medical care to someone experiencing a sudden injury or illness, it's known as first aid. In some cases, first aid consists of the initial support provided to someone in the middle of a medical emergency. This support might help them survive until professional help arrives.

In other cases, first aid consists of the care provided to someone with a minor injury. For example, first aid is often all that’s needed to treat minor burns, cuts, insect stings or broken bones.

Hands on Instruction
The first aid class will be led by a certified expert. Participants will have hands on training using basic supplies found in a first aid kit including bandages, gauze, antiseptics, materials for dressing wounds, using PPE correctly, etc. Your instructor will cover situations such as insect bites, burns, contusions, broken bones, allergic reactions, heat stroke and more. Masks are optional during the class.

Anyone can attend. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Non-Santa Rosa County individuals will be charged a fee.
