The National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) is recognized by The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an evidence-based solution to lower the risk, delay, or prevent people with prediabetes from developing diabetes type 2. The program teaches participants how to incorporate physical activity and healthy dietary choices. In addition, it offers tips on managing stress in daily life and staying motivated to reach personal goals.

Program Statistics:

  • Participants added 150 minutes of exercise per week.
  • Studies show that participants with prediabetes reduced their risk of developing diabetes by 58% (71% in individuals aged 65 and older).
  • Modest behavioral changes helped participants lose 5% to 7% of their body weight.
