BACK TO SCHOOL IMMUNIZATIONS AVAILABLE AT FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN SANTA ROSA COUNTY

By DOH-Santa Rosa

July 27, 2017

Milton, Fla.— With less than a month remaining before students return to the classroom on August 14, the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (DOH-Santa Rosa) would like to remind parents that children must be up-to-date with their immunizations in order to attend school. Students entering the seventh grade must have proof that they have received the Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis).  Children over the age of four who are entering pre-k or kindergarten must have completed their four-year-old shots.  Children entering Florida schools for the first time are also required to have a physical.

The health department offers vaccinations by appointment during regular clinic hours.  Immunizations are free for children through the age of 18.  Parents are requested to bring a copy of their child’s shot record, and any insurance cards, with them to the clinic.  School physicals are also available by appointment at the Milton and Midway clinics for a fee of $55.00.  Physicals are not available at the Jay Clinic.
